Don't Take The Simplicity Of God's Word For Granted!

Nowadays, many are like Naaman. They are
scornful toward God and His word. They would obey God if He had commanded something difficult, but they reject God because He has commanded something simple.

The simplicity of God's word as been taken for granted and this as cause shipwreck of many people's faith.

To the unbelievers, salvation sounds simple and cheap to their hearings.  "the message of the cross sounds foolish to their hearing". The world through its wisdom does not know God.

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the
base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence". (1 cor 1:26-29)

To the believers Paul warns the Corinthians of being deceived and departing from the simplicity that is in Christ.
"but I fear lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtility, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ"(2 cor 11:3) further study would help understand more.......

Looking at Naaman's case, his expectations was different from what Elisha told him. He expected some fantastic thing to happen but otherwise. Naaman's servants had to convince him of his foolishness after which he obeyed God's simple command and was healed.

When God commands don't meet our expectations we tend to scorn. Outcome of our expectations depends on how we see God's Word ... How do you reason God's word?

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you may well put up with it (2 cor 11:4)

False teachers are everywhere with so many principles and doctines sounding scriptural but complicated,You need to guard your heart and be content with the simplicity that is in christ. Anything different from the scriptures is false. The answer to every of your challenges is still simple , never think beyond what has been written in the scriptures.

The simple word is still alive and exert power!!!
